I read some great reviews for Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. It’s always nice to hear good hype about a book and hope that it will meet or beat the hype.
So going in I had expected it to be good. Did it meet my expectations? Yes, it did!
1.The story starts with Kya’s Ma leaving and Kya waiting for her to come back. Later Jodie, then her Pa also left. How do you think abandonment shaped Kaya’s outlook in life. What repercussions did it have? Why did she leave?
2. Kya’s dad started taking her out on the boat. Did you think that it was a turning point in their relationship? Why did he leave?
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I am at a loss as to what to read next. I have just finished Becoming by Michelle Obama and Where The CrawdadSings by Delia Owens and I not sure what I should delve into next. What do you think?
Great news for book lovers and movie lovers! There’s some really interesting and diverse books to movies this year.
Some diverse genre books to film adaptation include best sellers like The Woman In The Window, Pulitzer Prize winner The Goldfinch, young adult books such as The Sun Is Also AStar, and Artemis Fowl to name a few.
Let me just say that I just love the cover of Tony’s Wife by Adriana Trigiani. The physical aspects of the book was nicely done, from the cover to the inside look of the chapters.
1. Why was Saverio Armandonada’s relationship with his dad Leone so strained after Saverio told his dad that he didn’t want to work in the Ford Rouge factory and start a career in singing? Was Leone’s response to Saverio typical of the Italian-American for that time? Can you understand Leone’s side of the argument? What repercussions did the argument have?

You must be strong enough to strike and strike and strike again without tiring.
The first lesson is to make yourself that strong.
Jude has bound the wicked king, Cardan, to her, and made herself the power behind the throne. Navigating the constantly shifting political alliances of Faerie would be difficult enough if Cardan were biddable. But he does everything in his power to humiliate and undermine her, even as his fascination with her remains undiminished.
When it becomes all too clear that someone close to Jude means to betray her, threatening her life and the lives of everyone she loves, Just must uncover the traitor and fight her own complicated feelings for Cardan to maintain control as a mortal in a faerie world.
From hardcover book, 322 pages, copyright 2019, and published by Little, Brown and Company.
I really outdid myself in reading in the second half of 2018. I read 56 books! This is the most amount of books I have ever done in six months, and I am very chuffed with my new record, so I am giving myself a pat on the back!
Okay, let’s move on and see what I read. Just a FYI, I was able to read this many because I was driving a lot and was able to do lots of audio books. Hooray for audio books!
