A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles

Please join us in reading A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles for our suggested book club monthly reading.

We will be reviewing A Gentleman in Moscow along with our monthly book club discussions questions for March 31st, 2017.

Amor Towles, author of Rules of Civility, is a New York Times bestseller.

Here’s what being said about the book:

“The same gorgeous, layered richness that marked Towles’ debut, Rules of Civility, shapes [A Gentleman in Moscow]” –Entertainment Weekly

“Irresistible. . .[an] elegant period piece. . .as lavishly filigreed as a Faberge egg.”
O, the Oprah Magazine

“The Grand Budapest Hotel’ and ‘Eloise’ meets all the Bond villains.” –TheSkimm

I am looking forward to reading this intriguing book about a man who is sentenced to live in a luxury hotel for the rest of his time.

  1. Is there somewhere on this site , where you discuss the book? Such as the discussion question? Or is it just reviews?

    1. Hi Diana!
Yes, there is a section where we discuss the book.
Each month we choose a book that we review and do discussion questions. It’s usually at the end of the month. So A Gentleman in Moscow will have discussion questions on March 31st. We read the book and then discuss the main ideas of the book.
If you go to the sitemap (on the main menu bar) there will be a category for book club discussion question that we have done so far for each month.

Thanks for stopping by and if you have any other questions, I’d be happy to help. 🙂

      1. Thank you! I will be sure to stop back. Just finished the book. Loved the book so much. We are discussing it today at our book club at our local library.

        1. Hi Diana!
I love the book too! It’s just brilliant.
Where’s your library? Perhaps I can join? Lol 😀
I’d be interested to hear your thoughts after your discussion!

    1. Hi Olivia!
You’d think that the confinement would be detrimental to someone’s health but so far I am not getting that…
      So far so good. 🙂

  2. What a strange concept, Dinh. I suppose to sentenced to live in a luxury hotel for the rest of your life is better than being stuck in an airport (Tom Hanks). 😀

    1. Hello Lonna!
      Haha, that’s a humorous reference!
I think this book will be a breath of fresh air after my last book which left me quite depressed and sad.
The concept of the book is interesting and I wonder how the author will entertain us!

Thanks for stopping by at Arlene’s Book Club!
