Books That I Read! Mid Year Book Update 2019

It’s that time again to wrap up my reading progress for the first half of the year, 2019.

I am ecstatic to report that I read more books than I could ever imagine. I read a total of 80 books in 6 months. That’s a world record for me. I went over my Goodreads reading challenge by 20 books already!

I have bested my reading challenge by following my own tips! Want to read more? Check out my Top 5 Tips On How To Read More.

My hiatus in blogging had helped fuel the extra time for reading. Since the beginning of the year, I have not done many reviews or posts. I took a break to enjoy reading without thinking about writing a review or to blog. This has been great for me as I was blogged-out. Sometimes you just need a break!

There were lots of great books that I really enjoyed and some a disappointment, but overall it was good.

I was also pleased that I discovered some new authors to love!

I was surprised that Neon Prey by John Sandford was not as good as I had hoped. I have read all of the prey series and this 29th book was just a disappointment!

Another disappointment was The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin and Becoming by Michelle Obama. I had thought they were going to be better than what I got.

My top three books which I absolutely loved were Circe by Madeline, The Night Tiger by Yangze Choo, The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides.

Thanks for reading! Have you read any of these books? If yes, what did you think? Let me know in the comments πŸ™‚

  1. So many books that I don’t know where to start! We have a lot of books in common. I am glad you loved Eleanor Oliphant just as much as I did. I really need to read Strange the Dreamer and Onces Upon a River. I really didn’t like Black Leopard Red Wolf at all. So many more books but I can’t get to them all. Yay for reading so much!

I hope to enjoy this year by reading more and not blogging as much. It can be difficult when I have to compromise the time with my life and family. The blog will be there.
